Well a noid light isn't self powered,
mine sits on top of my diagnostics pile,
and pile it is,
I just don't want to think how much it all cost!!
but on any vehicle the noid fits it lighting up on crank tells me that there's injector pulse signal so there's also CAS signal.
customers don't want me plugging in bells and whistles and charging them if it can be helped.
So if I turn up at their home for a non starter plugging a noid light in and asking them to watch for the flashing lamp they are involved and can see/tell me what's going on.
they are happy if it lights up and ~I can tell them what it isn't
for all they cost money well spent.
AND big bonus is there's no pin distortion in use,
something you can't always get with say a multi meter.
