I just saw this satnav on ebay, the seller now says updates are no longer available but the internet says the opposite? Does anyone here know the truth please?

I've got one - it sits in a drawer in the office - . TomTom no longer support these old models. Don't bother is my advice. Buy a recent model with free updates for life.

The Tomtom Go 520 is not an old model

I've got a Tomtom 5200 - with lifetime map updates, lifetime speed camera updates and lifetime traffic updates - would not be without it

The Tomtom GO 520 is a current version that uses your phone for traffic rather than an on-board sim.

[EDIT] Ah - looks like the Tomtom also used 520 on a much older model

There are plenty of people on the internet who will sell you a map update which will possibly compromise your machine. The upgrade won't be authentic and will have to bypass something to install itself.

It's probably cheaper in the long run to get a modern machine with lifetime updates, which TomTom has had to offer to keep competitive. Either that or use a mobile phone.

Apparently Lifetime maps...means for the time your device is supported by tomtom....so worth a nosey of their small print..
