Volvo S60 D5 Saloon 2010 - Small amount of water collect in boot (lowpoint) - KenC

My neighbour ownes this car, its an outside car parked out in all weathers.

We had the rear boot luggage tray out earlier to declutter it and clean it out

( fist time in 3 years )

.there was an amount of water in the low point of the boot, It was sponged it out & measured as 300cc,

I feel this is likely to be a very small drip type leak, do any of the readers here have any pointers regarding where the cause might be ?

thank you

Is it a new-shape S60 or the old type?

For such a relatively small amount of water, I would suspect either a cracked seal around the boot lid, or one of the grommet plugs in the boot floor has cracked and is letting in a bit of water. Either way, it's npthing to worry about now you've mopped it out.

Hello, its a S60 2 I believe,

today after having cleared out the boot & tray I spent sometime looking for evidence of a leak in the rain, it looks like the rain water is tracking down the offside rear area of the boot seal to the bottom offside corner ( low point) then working its way into the rear floorpan under the carpet lined boot floor ( which hides the drain plugs )

I have decided to have the rubber out (when its dry) and give it a good clean with a stiff brush if it still leaks after that I hope some clear flexible weather proof sealant will do the trick. There are small toothpaste sized tubes of it at EuroCarparts&Ebay.which are inexpensive

If anyone can recomend a product please do so, thank you
