Freelander 1 TDI - Freelander 1 TDI 1999 - Fuel supply problem - Andrew McMellon

Hello,

Further to my previous question.

I have fitted a new fuel relay but still the problem persists.

Any ideas very welcome!

Thank you for previous suggestions.

Having a quick look at the wiring F22 is the pump fuse,

Which splits into 2,

one wire going through the impat shut off switch,

Presumably you have checked this for function?

then through relay K20 which is pulled down and activated by the ECU.

Grounding the black/violet temporarily should trigger the relay.

Try for battery voltage at white/violet wair from the relay,

this feeds the pumps,

Or you could inject 12V into this wire and listen/check for pump function

After this it's a suspect PCM or PCM ground fault.

In your previous post you mention that the hand pump gets sucked flat by the engine fuel pump.

I would have thought that meant that the pipe from the tank was being obstructed not allowing fuel to flow from the tank.

Perhaps a section of rubber pipe between the tank & hand pump is delaminating internally so blocking fuel flow, then after the engine stops & the vacuum is lost it opens up again.
