2008 Golf GT TSI - VW Golf GT TSI- help draining windshield wash - onlyme

Hi all, would be really grateful for any advice.

Last week my windscreen washers stopped working- I can hear the pump working, the wipers moves as normal but there's no water. We think it may be clogged up with something and I wondered whether there was a) a method of flushing or b) anywhere I can find out how to drain the container that contains the wash fluid?

Thanks in advance for any help.

If your tap has any pressure behind it, poke a hose in the filler cap and give it a burst (or two). Then syphon out and refill.

That's as long as it's not just the nozzles frozen up?

Hi Andrew, thanks- hadn't thought of that! It's not frozen but I do think it's blocked. I'll try the hose tip.

Where the pump sits in the bottom of the bottle, there is a plastic strainer that gets blocked up. Flushing with a hose may work,if not then the only real option is to access the bottle. Not a 5 min job.
