I have new wiper blades on but when they swipe upwards its fine. When they swipe down it leaves a mist which you can hardly see out of when it's dark

When the windscreen wipers are on intermitent as above. when they mist up on the swipe down, as soon as it is inbetween wipes the screen clears really fast.

Thanks for any replies.

I have tried cleaning with meths and white spirits but I am also getting this (this isnt my car but just to show)

Sorry.

It has had new wiper blades around two months ago.

It's an 06 Totota Yaris.

It's just a rundaround we bought untill we go for something else as we had to reject our last car...long story.

I guess they were pattern as the Dealer put them on.

Just before I bought the car the dealer put it on for an MOT and it needed new blades then so thats when they were replaced just before I collected itI was thinking of buying a new set just incase as it also happens on the wifes 08 yaris that we have had for a while now.

I would have thought that the dealer would have just gone for the cheapest blades. So I might look at gettong some Bosch ones.

I think that neds new blades though.

Do you also think that a good windscreen cleaner would help to get the grease?/film? off that is shown in my link?

That looks like an oil or grease film. I wonder if the fitter had greasy hands when he put the new blades on?

I suggest you clean/degrease the screen and blades.

Panelwipe should shift grease, what I've found gets screens really clean is the Cerium Oxide windscreen polish which is available in kits (Google will find a supplier). Follow the instructions and you should get good results.

Note: this even removes Rain-X if that has been applied.

Meths yes, but white spirit? Not something I would use instinctively, always feels a bit greasy to me.

I use our k****** cleaning spray - a garden sprayer containing 50% water, 50% spirit vinegar and a drop or two of washing up liquid. Seems to work.

Maight need something a bit more aggressive if it has got proper greasy.
