1.6 HDI - oli flow - strickjumpers

Hello,

Could anyone tell me the quantity of oil through the turbo on 1.6 HDI and correct checking procedure, ie.oil temp, grade, and rpm versus time for sample collection? many thanks, Mike.

Interesting question,

Which I have no answer for,

Never heard of any data,

I'd guess someone like Garret turbos might have that data.

Pretty much the turbo's on these go bust from lack of oil feed to the bearings.

Not the turbo's fault.

Owner/operators lack of oil changes.

That suggests that 0.3l/minute is the minimum allowable oil flow to the turbo immediately after startup.

Have a look inside the rocker cover for any signs of carbon granules as this is what causes the turbo to fail, if its perfectly free, change your oil at about twice as often as recommended and you shouldn't have a problem.
