Last year had fault code (forgot) mechanic changed valve egr? Filter etc.

A few days later it would not go up steep hill but not always. Mechanic had no answer... Strangely prob went away.

Last month engine went kaput .. got 2nd hand engine ..worked ok..but problem had returned.Mechanic said poss catalytic prob & to drive in low gear to clear prob no luck

Sometimes it drives well on motorway other times sluggish..Tonight on steep hill to my house died half way up hill... Handbrake on tried to get biting point but would not go forward...Reversed/rolled round corner drove back down hill.. Took a run up another hill only 1st sluggish at the top..

As intermittent hard to pinpoint ... Seems until car gets to 3k revs not Much acceleration... When it's playing up.. wonder if it acceleration prob

Or fuel not getting through .. could a pipe kink severely going uphill
