2010 qashqui 1.5 diesel - Timing pins - sparky100

Hi, just wondering if anybody knew what size timing plns for setting timing up. Looks like their only pins in the haynes manual. Probably 7 or 8 or 9mm. Seems that I would only use the the proper tools once and they are £20 . Thanks for any info. Sparky100.

If they are just straight pins you could just use a suitable size of drill bit, I've done that before.

I've no idea of the sizes for your engine but, the last Renault timing belt I did I used an 8mm drill to hold the flywheel in position.

A small car shop close to me offers the hire of tools like this for a couple of quid (or free if you bought the car parts from them.
