Vauxhall Corsa D - Corsa alarm?? - Joe Briggs

Seems a strange post given we are no longer in the 1980's but here goes. Just brought a Corsa 2011 (D) SXi however not sure it has a factory fitted alarm.

Before I carry out the usual tests can anyone confirm yes or no?

The interia door symbol "red light" stays for a minute or two but then goes out however after some research I believe this only indicates doors are centrally locked.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

I have a Corsa D - a 2010 1.4SE. I have no idea if there is an alarm - in the sense of something that goes off every time it is windy or a bus goes by. As far as I know, two presses to lock the car deadlocks the doors and sets the imobiliser. I don't think it's an intruder alarm, but I may be wrong.

Unlikely to have a factory fitted alarm.if it has it will have the ultrasonic eyes for the interior in the roof light.The immobiliser sets automatically even if you don't lock the car

Probably going off topic but for insurance purposes does therefore having an immobiliser count same as having an alarm?

No - most insurers give "Immobiliser only" as an option when you get the quote.
