KIA Venga - Kia Venga occasional starting problem - Spatacus

Hello,

Had my kia venga for almost a year now,its be faultless apart from one issue;-On 4 separate occasions i have struggled to start it,this happened in both cold and warm weather.Initially i thought it was my starter motor or battery but after having my mechanic check it he said everything was fine.

Has anyone experienced this before?

My car is a 2011 venga,petrol

If you have been having it serviced with a Kia dealer it is still under warranty.. take it to them, they will kno of any issues. or try the kia owners forum.

I bought and fitted the immobilser pick up ring that goes around the ignition barrel (Antenna) and so far so good, starts everytime.

Thats for all the info chaps.

That is why i have my car serviced at Kia.

When this happens, look at the display and see if the "car" symbol is fully lit, flashing or off. Turning the key to start too quickly can occasionally mean the immobiliser hasn't cleared, so the starter turns over but doesn't fire. Turning off, then ignition on, pause a second and then it should start if that was the reason.
