Ford fiesta 2002 - All warning lights on even without key in ignition - davidc1973

Started taking 8 turns to turn over.one mornin ,machine gun clicks then turns over.dashboard is going haywire but warning lights would go off when accelerating.mph and rev counters stop working.but starts every morning.on the wednesday had a minor bump no damage .thursday worked in morning.the afternoon problems began.turned key nothin no click etc.but turned key faint noise coming from alternator for a second.eventually turns over.friday battry completely dead i charge it fully ,when i reconnect it all warning lights are on without key in ignition.wont start nothin not even turning over.any ideas

I'd wonder if, although you've charged the battery, if the battery is HOLDING any charge.

Unless it has been changed recently looks like new battery time.

Battery was changed 3 months ago.but will take to get tested

You need to get the alternator/charging system checked too.

No i havnt.alternator is charging battery.but i think when my car is idle its discharging it somehow.suggested diode problem.is it fuel pump situated above alternator.somethin is engaging in that area when battery is reconnected.im gonna disconnect and reconnect some plugs which has been suggested on here will let you know

This year Fiesta is on the break point between early model (small rear lights)and later ,square shape,where the lights run right up the rear wings.Which model do you have?.The fuel pump is in the tank(petrol engine)If it's a diesel,then the pump is near the alternator.
