BMW says when its due, and changes this according to the driving. Sometimes it could go up to 16 months. That's quite handy, as I don't have to actually count the miles after the last service.

Of course..I've been told its 12 months or 12K miles, whichever comes earlier.

I'd personally make that 12 months or 10k whichever comes first (especially if the car sees numerous cold starts and shorter runs), but compared to the 20k intervals which get bandied about now, and some people assume is all that is needed, then 12 months/12k miles is a sensible service regime.

Some of us here would be inclined to leave it to annual/12k but slip an additonal oil and filter change in @ 6k unless the car was used solely for long journeys....not suggesting this is a must nor that you should do so, we all have our own opinions on this, and luckily so far are free to do things like this should we wish to (be assured in time someone with an agenda will stick their oar in), if you do this make sure to keep receipts as desirable service histories like this will be rare and sought after by the private used buyer.

Its 1 year or 16K miles unless its the 5.0V8 which may be different. The dash tells you when it is due. On mine it was early this year but I just waited until it was almost 1 year.

You can find when it was last done (if you do not know) by registering for Jaguars online service history (osh.jaguar.com). That will also tell you when it is next due. There are 2 alternating services which are basically oil and filter first year then oil, filter, fuel filter, air filter etc on second year.
