Yes , my little 106 "Purdy" is still going strong, thanks
The alternator belt snapped last week, and it was an adventure watching the lights dim, then the engine light come on, then misfires ! (I couldn't stop, as I was on a dark stretch of a single carriageway)
...back home, via my personal chauffeur (ie the RAC ) and £3.78 later, for an alternator belt, ...all is good with the world
A few months ago, I was spot welding the seats' tubings, and where they go into the frame..
Not perfect, but a lot safer than they had been for the last yearr, I would guess ! (also, I had to be very, very careful not to set fire to the carpets or the insulation ! that's why I spot welded and cooled with water , asap) s103.photobucket.com/user/liammcl_2006/library/Wel...1
I'm looking at getting a towbar (or making one) for my little 1.1 monster. so I can tow a trailer etc....It's good to have ambitions :) s103.photobucket.com/user/liammcl_2006/library/Tow...1
I just saw this... and would be tempted , if my stoopid car would only break down ! diesel , 75,000 miles, £250... and I could weld the boot www.gumtree.com/p/peugeot/peugeot-106-5-door-blue-...2
ps , it's been 3 years to the day, and 40,000 miles , since the infamous timing belt snap. ! thanks to all, for all the help with that one ! s103.photobucket.com/user/liammcl_2006/library/Tim...1
Keep on truckin', Gordon :) I hope all is good with you and yours. All the very best Liam
ps I am also helping other with their cars.. eg A side mirror for £20 from ebay, and I showed the guy how to fit it.. (he was quoted £500 from Kia Carens !)
and have just done an oil change for my brother (quoted £120 from ford!) s103.photobucket.com/user/liammcl_2006/library/Eam...1
