On the one I had it was part of the interior light circuit and could not be disconnected, someone else may know better

On most mnodern cars,the chimes/bongs/beeps and other audible warnings are integrated into the instrument cluster.So not really practical to get them disconnected.Interestingly,last week I drove some large american pick-up truck,and the indicator "clicker"sounds out of the driver door speaker.

IIRC if you turn off the interior light, you dont get the chime, only problem is if you leave sidelights on (some call em parking lights) and open door it chimes as a warning about lights

Thanks bolt, I wanted to stop the chime when the door is open. also found out that disconnecting the wire from the door switch stops the chime but also stops everything else switching off when the door is opened resulting in a flat battery the other night.

I thought as much thats why I said to turn light switch off

also found out that disconnecting the wire from the door switch stops the chime but also stops everything else switching off when the door is opened resulting in a flat battery the other night.

It only operates the interior light/boot light/alarm warning and is a ground not + supply unless it shorted to earth?
