Morning all
I recently purchased a used 07 plate Passat with 90k on its clock. It has a full service history and had its cambelt and water pump changed. At first I couldn't find anything wrong with it. The test drive felt smooth and I left the engine running and I couldn't find any issues.
I purchased the car on the 1st. Driving it home I noticed a vibration in the steering wheel which has now being resolved (after two trips to the dealer)
The main issue I seem to be having is after drive down the motorway or for a fair distance I get a strong vibration in the cabin. It starts gentle then slowly builds up to the point its shaking the cabin.
After taking it back the first time they said the engine is in a greacondition and that they thing it might be the regen. I did my research and crossed that on my list as that certainly isn't the cause. After that I asked for one of the engineers to sot in the car and he said it is properly the fly wheel. They kept it in all day and as I went to collect it they saod due to the age and the milage there's nothing they can do. Where if it was a new car they would swap the fly wheel straight away.
I feel well and truly fobbed off. Where do I stand with this? Am I within my right to request a refund or do they have a obligation to fix the issue as it was there when I purchased it? They did mention that it wouldn't be covered by there warranty which came with the vehicle. At the time of purchase they didn't mention anything about anything not being covered
Its a 2.0 TDI 140 BTW
Thank you and sorry for any spelling mistakes. I typed this up on my phone
