Peugeot 407 2.0 hdi - Peugeot 407 2.0 hdi depollution system fault - redmule
The depollution system faulty and engine light comes up on my Peugeot 407, also there is a slight fluctuation in boost pickup, seems like wastegate opens and closes, it has been diagnosed and had 2 new boost solenoids fitted but there is no change. Does anyone have any ideas ? Boost is good after initial fluctuations and drives fine overall.

Turbo control is actually worked by vacuum from the vac pup on the end of the camshaft.
Piping takes the vac to the brake servo and the turbo control solenoids.
So check the small diameter pipe from the vac pipe to the turbo control solenoid and down to the turbo for cracks/leaks.

But to be honest new pipe cost so little I usually just replace all the piping.

"depollution fault" usually relates to the DPF system. There's many components critical to it operating correctly - additive in the tank, the tank pump working, fuel cap sensors, working glow plugs and relay, working cooling fan.

If just one of those fails then it won't regenerate. Sadly, it could be absolutely any of them.

You DPF will be getting clogged and causing the performance issues and the EGR valve will be getting clogged too.

You need a Planet diasgnostic to tell you which part is faulty. Google "Planet owners map" to find someone near you.

I have had this issue for some time now and it has been annoying me immensely. Mine had about 102000 on the clock when it first went on the dash and I wondered what it meant. A garage wanted 65 quid just to check it and then if there was a problem, extra cost to fix, so I had to leave it. It was intermittent, but then, recently, it came on and stayed on. Since moving, I have found a mobile mechanic I can trust and he told me there is a system in the exhaust [in the middle somewhere] that works this, so I asked him how much to replace with a new one. When he mentioned a figure bigger than the value of my 2007 car, I thought 'trade it fast,' but then read somewhere about how the injectors, when grubby, can make this go off, so I tried some Carlube type 'Redex.' It has only been a few days but within about ten miles the light went off and it has stayed off, with all symptoms vanishing and all because I bought some additive for the diesel last week. I am hoping I have fixed it and will be using the stuff again. Best £6-99 I ever spent. Got to be worth a try eh? Better than £65 plus costs that may not even fix it.Just thought I would share.

Be careful, it might only be a short term fix. See my post above yours, there are alternatives to dealer level diagnostics at a more reasonable price.
