Honda Izy - Honda IZY Mower will not start - DPowell

I have a Handa Izy mower that will not start. If I remove the air filter and squirt fuel direct into the carb, it will start and carry on running fine. Aslo after it has run for a few minutes it will start straight away.

But each week I go to use it, I have to go thriugh the same procedure. Any ideas?

I suspect you have a bloked jet in the carb. Regards Peter

I'd go for a split in the rubber primer - had difficulty similar to OP some 15 yrs ago.

The tiny piston of the automatic choke assembly might have seized/jammed.

Try a new spark plug and drill a small hole in the fuel tank filler cap. Worked for me.
