Corsa D INSP3 - Project C

Hi all

For some reason I'm struggling to understand what the manual is trying to tell me regarding INSP 3 warning on ODO, I figure it either means my battery's on its way out or the key fob is

Any advice appreciated :)

Hi

No I think that's just INSP, INSP 2/3/4 have other meanings, it's just the way it's worded is confusing me is all :)

Though you raise a new question for me... If the servicing garage forgets to erase the INSP message will it just stay there even after a service is done?

I haven't owned a Vauxhall for a while, but still have a few codes that I found out when we had a Zafira. INSP3 on my list is simply key fob battery low.

I had a dig in the book and yes you're right

however I only replaced the battery a week ago as its been playing up. must be something wrong with the key

If you haven't already done so I suggest you read the manual carefully before you incur any more expense. There may be specific things you need to do to sync the key to the car when you change batteries. You may for example need to resync all keys at the same time even if you only changed the battery in one.

I imagine the key is just past it, I have figured out a workaround and in the long run will only rarely use the car myself

To remove INSP3 try this. Hold the trip reset button down as you turn on the ignition release the button when the message disappears. It will zero the trip but should stop the message reappearing.

Forget the spare key for the moment, it will only take seconds to try what I have suggested, I use this method to clear the annual insp message after I have serviced my Vectra C. If when you use the spare key again it returns you will know to replace it and have it programed to suit your car.

Did you replace if with the correct type of battery or a cheapie chinky one?

I've had this problem with keyfob batteries unless they are fresh and a good brand like Panasonic or Maxell.

Hi there

When we got the car the key wasn't working. My wife swapped it out for a good brand battery and immediately worked no sync required. Then after 3 weeks stopped again and despite trying 2 further brand new batteries won't work. Must just be a duff key. But it's only a spare so not the end of the world
