Mondeo 2014 - Keyfob repair - Quoth

The spring mechanism in both my keyfobs has failed with the result that if I close the key, the blade will not open out when I press the button. This means that I have to have something at hand to prise the blade up - and it is not always easy.

Any suggestions as to where I might get the fobs repaired other than at Ford?

I'm based in York if that helps.

You can purchase empty Ford Key Fob Cases on Ebay and then just transfer the contents of the key fob yourself. I'm not exactly sure what Mondeo 2014 key fob looks like, but one of the types can be found here:

Other types are available.

Alternatively, there are companies who specialise in repairing key fobs; suggest you do a Google.

Or, you could just ask one of your local locksmiths; many do do this type of work these days.

Is the car not under Ford warranty?At least 3 years,I would have thought.

The car is still in warranty (until next March) but I'd be surprised if the key was - it's due a 50k service in the next couple of weeks so I'll check with them.
