Citroen c5 diesel 2003 - starting problem - eddie567

hello I have a problem with my c5 I went out this morning and the battery died as I was trying to start it I've put a new battery on and now it wont turn over at all now please any ideas king regards Eddie.

Remove both battery leads and check they are clean on the inside where they mate with the battery terminals.Re-attach the leads,turn on the ignition for about 5 minutes,but do not try and start the engine at this point.Allow time to lapse,then try to restart.

If that doesn't work, run a lead from the battery + terminal and touch it on the small terminal on the starter, if it then turns over you have a fault in the ignition switch/wiring or the starter is faulty - or the battery flat.

ThankyouI will try that today the battery is brand new I bought it yesterday I went to start it Saturday it turned over but battery died defore managed to catch and start that's why I put a new battery on it but now It wont turn over at all now kind regards Eddie.
