A garage did £2400 of unnecessary work to my car - can I claim this money back?

My 2004 Toyota Previa suffered loss of power in the snow. The AA got it to work enough to drive it to my dealer. Even though the AA driver told them about the fuel filter, the dealer ignored that and diagnosed fuel injectors as 'way out of spec' and a faulty EDU. It took a week to replace the injectors - but then they found there was still no power. Changing the fuel filter fixed it. So, I am left with a bill of £2400 and I'm unsure that most of the work was necessary. Could the filter problem have led the system to report problems with the injectors? And, if so, can I complain for the possibly unnecessary work?

Yes. It's also ridiculous to land you with a bill for £2400 on a car that's probably not worth £2400. Suggest to the dealer who did the unnecessary work that if he can't come to a satisfactory arrangement with you, you'll take the matter to Small Claims.
