We want a new estate car - why don't you recommend the Skoda Fabia Estate?
We are considering changing our car and as my wife is of an 'arty' persuasion a small estate seems to be the best option. One we like the look of is a 1.2 TSI 105 Skoda Fabia Estate as there is a discount equal to the VAT available. We notice you do not recommend this model very often. Are we missing something you may be aware of? Can you recommend any other estate cars for £12,000 to £14,000? We only do 8000 to 10,000 miles per year.

I don't recommend it because I don't like it. If buying a Skoda, then far better a Roomster or a Yeti. The 1.2 chain cam TSI 105 is quite good, but not as economical as cracked up to be. Even using eco techniques I could not beat 47mpg. Alternatives are the Peugeot 207SW, SEAT Ibiza ST, Renault Clio ST.
