Do you know of any problems with the Skoda Superb 1.8-litre petrol engine?

I have ordered a new Skoda Superb Elegance. As I do mostly short trips I have gone for the 1.8 petrol engine. Do you know of any problems with this engine? Also, I asked for 17-inch instead of 18-inch wheels to get a more comfortable ride. My dealer says Skoda wont supply the Elegance with these wheels. Your comments would be appreciated.

Nice engine. Chain cam, too. Just can be a bit juicy. Very sensible to go for the 17s rather than the 18s. You'll get better ride comfort, longer tyre life and cheaper tyre replacement costs.

Limousine-like amounts of rear legroom. Clever dual tailgate means it's both a hatch and a saloon. GreenLine model is very economical. A lot of car for the money.
