What's making my Citroen Xsara's CD player / radio pop when going over bumps?

When I turn my Citroen Xsara to the left, the speakers make a loud "pop" noise and the CD player/radio cuts out. It has now got even worse, as when I go over a bump in the road it also happens.

Possibly water sloshing about in the bottoms of the doors. Make sure the drains in the doorskins are clear.
