My Mercedes-Benz ML270 is telling me that my oil level is too high, but it isn't. Why?

When I check the oil level on my 2000 Mercedes-Benz ML270 using the method provided in the manual, I get an "OIL HI" indicator on the dashboard, indicating that the oil level is high. The vehicle was driven about an hour before I checked the oil and it was parked on a level surface. The dipstick is on the mark. I am confused.

I also have a fuel problem. As I start pulling off I can put my foot down and away it goes, but two or three minutes into the drive it pulls back and slows down to 40mph, and when you put foot to the floor it doesn't want to go. If I stop, turn off and restart the car it's ok for a few minutes. Can someone help?

It could be that there is an injector fault that is dribbling diesel fuel into the sump. Get it checked by a diesel injection specialist.
