How do I know which pads to buy for my Volkswagen Golf III?
I have a 1996 Volkswagen Golf III 1.8 SE and need to change the front brake pads. Volkswagen fitted two types of calliper - their own brand, and Girling. How can I tell which is fitted to my car, as this will determine which type of pad I need?

You should use the chassis number of the car when purchasing new pads. This will ensure that you have the correct ones.
