Why is my Renault Clio stuttering through low gear changes?

My 2006 Renault Clio seems to have developed an intermittent fault. It's ticking over slightly high when in idle and the temperature gauge drops to zero. When this happens it also stutters a bit through low gear changes. The car has done 62,000 miles and passed its MoT in March with no advisories. This has happened twice now. Any ideas please?

We would suggest that it may well be the ECT (engine coolant temp sensor). Not difficult to change.
