I damaged a rented motorhome but can't afford to pay for the damage. What do I do?
I have had a very bad experience with renting a motorhome. When I went to collect the vehicle at the start of my holiday, I was not happy with the condition of the vehicle, I feel that the company should have informed me of the defects before I paid the balance. Unfortunately I had to accept this as we had other bookings to commit too. After arriving at our destination we were made aware that the nearside brake light was not working. There was also previous damage to the bumper on that side and, when driving close to some bushes, this caused the back light casing to split. We had to cut short our holiday as we were stopped by the police, and on returning the vehicle they now expect me to pay £450 costs for the repair. I have explained to them that I do not have this money. Please advise.

You actually admit here that you damaged the vehicle, so you have to pay for it to be repaired.
