Charged an excess because of hailstorms
We rented a Nissan Juke from Avis in Austria for 2 weeks. During the period there was a heavy hailstorm. Avis have charged us the excess of 790 euros for damage to the roof and bonnet caused by the hail. They maintain that we are responsible for everything that happens to the car during the hire period.
We have no control over hail storms and believe they are wrong to charge the excess. Even if their argument is in line with their terms and conditions, surely they must be "unfair"?

If you took out the damage cover you are in the clear. If you didn't, you took the risk of the 'Act of God' that occurred.
