Why is my daughter's Ford S-Max persistently leaking oil?

My daughter has a 2008 Ford S-Max Titanium X with a 2.2 TDCi engine. The car has been back to the Ford main agent eight times now for oil leaks. The fault is obvious from spasmodic blue fumes from under the bonnet. An oil pipe has been replaced several times and also a revised specification pipe. I think oil seals have also been replaced. Is this a common fault with the 2.2 engine? I note that Ford seem to have withdrawn the 2.2 TDCi engine.

First I've heard of it. Mags like Autocar are bemoaning the withdrawal of the 2.2 in Fords, Citroens and Peugeots. But the reason is lower emissions, not some sinister fault. I think on your car the problem is turbo oil seals.
