Is there a specific Jaguar X-Type model that would suit me best?
I would like to get a used Jaguar X-Type estate. I have £8000 and wondered which would be the best for my money. It would be used as a family car and would do less than 10,000 miles a year, mostly urban. It would be nice to have as much comfort as possible with this budget, and maybe a bit of poke when I drive it. Is there anything I should watch out for, or a specific engine and year that would suit me best?

There's no diesel particulate filter to worry about, and it's the old chain cam Mondeo diesel engine, so a diesel makes the most sense.
