What SUV offers a safe and comfortable drive in rural areas?
I currently drive a 2009 Volkswagen Golf GT TDI. It's a great car with all the bells and whistles. I'm shortly moving to a more rural area and the low sport ride doesn't make for a safe drive down the mud and branch scattered country lanes. I've recently retired and will probably only drive 10,000 miles per year, which will include short country trips and some 300 mile journeys. I'm looking for suitable SUV to transport myself, my wife, a small dog and occasionally our grandson in comfort and safety. The budget, including trade in of the Golf is £20,000. What should I consider?
