What cars could you recommend that have a smooth and reliable automatic gearbox?
I have the wonderful 8-speed ZF auto box in my 2015 BMW 4 Series. I can't afford to keep the BMW but I do like a silky smooth automatic transmission. What cars have the best automatic transmissions, in terms of the smoothness of gear change and reliability? My budget is £16,500 and I'd like a family car with a large boot and understated performance.
