Do you know what's causing a power steering fault on my Kia Venga?
On start up, all my Kia Venga's dashboard lights failed to come on and the power steering was not working. On the second occasion this happened, all the dashboard warning lights stayed on when the engine started, but the power steering was inoperative. On each occasion switching the ignition on and off several times cleared the fault. My Kia supplying dealer told me after the first failure that they had found a loose connection and that this was the problem. I am now concerned that this fault in the power steering will occur when I am driving at speed round a corner and that I will lose control of the car. It also has a loose boot floor.
As yet my dealer has been unable to solve any of the problems and Kia will not speak to me regarding these issues. It is a great shame, as the car, when it works properly, is very good. Please advise what action I should take to get my problems resolved?

A loose connection to the electric power steering would explain this. You can solve the boot floor problem by putting something between the spare wheel and the floor panel.
