Are 2005 Vauxhalls prone to engine failure?

I have been looking at your website following the breakdown of my 05-plate Vauxhall. Can you tell me how people went about getting Vauxhall to pay for the repairs? I am having no luck with them as they just say that it is out of warranty and not their problem. You have a lot of articles about the 2005 Vauxhall's broken camshaft on here and some sound like they had positive outcomes.

Broken camshafts on Corsa 1.0s, 1.2s and 1.4s are due to the stretch bolts that hold the camshaft bearer caps in place slackening. These bolts actually need replacing periodically, but because it is an embarrassingly expensive job Vauxhall dealers don't tell customers about this and leave them to take a chance whether or not they will suffer camshaft failure as a result. It needs Watchdogging.
