Does the Volkswagen Golf TDi tend to clog up its DPF?
I've been looking at the Volkswagen Golf TDi 105PS Bluemotion, but was told today by a fellow Volkswagen fan that I need to beware of their tendency to clog up the diesel particulate filter every 6-800 miles. Is this true? Does it drop the fuel economy significantly or cause other engine problems?

Used for short runs from cold, yes, this will happen. Only consider if you will be doing at least 15,000 miles a year.
