Volkswagen Tiguan is really noisy since emissions fix - what should I do?
My Volkswagen Tigaun has just had its emissions fix. However, since getting the car back, I've noticed that the engine is much nosier. It used to be nice and smooth, but now it is making a growling noise, especially when pulling under loads. It sounds like a sports exhaust or a blowing exhaust but it is coming from the front. It is a 2011 2.0 TDI BlueMotion 4Motion and has only done 26k miles. I have taken the car back to the dealer, but they say they can't find anything. I pointed out to them that the air inlet rattles and vibrates a bit, which they have sealed up. I have brought the car home and still no difference. What do I do now?

There are now 16 instances (yours is the 16th): www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/volkswagen/tiguan-20.../ If VW persists in pretending there is no problem when there very obviously is, you need to get together with other owners and take Class Action against VW to either fix your car completely (by fitting the later EA288 engine) or buy your car from you and what would have been a fair retail value had the problem not occurred. We strongly recommend all VW owners to refuse to have the emissions defeat remap until VW has got its act together and come up with a remap that does not destroy the running of the engines.
