How can I reduce the road noise on my Citroen C5?

I run a Citroen C5 Exclusive 2.2 diesel (2005 model) on Vredestein Ultrac Cento tyres. The road noise on a rough tarmac is terrible, but on a smooth surface its fine. Are there any other tyres that would alleviate this problem?
