Which SUV will suit me?
I'm now ready to change my car and have been fancying a 4x4 for quite some time now. I really like the high driving position and, as I am sometimes out in the country I often find myself parking on rough and uneven verges. The ground clearance on my Honda Accord is limiting where I can park up at times. My problem is that I have read so many horror stories regarding the dreaded DPF units that I just don't know where to turn. My annual mileage is only 10/12K or so and most of my journeys are relatively short which would indicate that DPF issues would be very likely for me. My thoughts are leaning towards a petrol version to get rid of the DPF issues but then I obviously have the mpg issues.
Does anyone have any suggestions with regard to either:
A 4x4 diesel which would suit my driving criteria or ..
A petrol 4x4 which wouldn't be too harsh on the wallet.

Consider a KIA Sportage 1.6T GDI GT. Petrol. 4WD. Great fun to drive. www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/kia/kia-sportage-2.../ The cheapest 4WD petrol SUV is the Dacia Duster 1.2TCe 125 for £14,895 and there's nothing wrong with it: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/dacia/dacia-duster.../
