Should my Vauxhall Vectra's cooling fan be running all the time?
I have a Vauxhall Vectra 2-litre diesel. Can you tell me if the front fan on the radiator is supposed to be running constantly, as my temperature is running up to 90 per cent before the emergency fan kicks in?

Most engines will run up to 90 degrees and then, if the car is running but not moving (ie traffic/town work), then the electric fan will kick in to assist in cooling. Once the temperature has come down the electric fan will switch off.
