Volkswagen Passat EGR fault
I have just read your article on EGR failure on Volkswagens and the link to the emissions scam with interest. My 2011 Passat has been recalled as one of the cars effected by the scandal and has been fully serviced by Volkswagen and used for mainly long motorway miles (120K miles on the clock). Today it has had a EGR fault confirmed. Should I seek some compensation from Volkswagen UK?

If an EGR fails prematurely I have been suggesting to readers that they seek some compensation from VW, and they usually get the part FoC but the dealer still stiffs them £600 for fitting it. However, 120k miles is not "premature" for an EGR. Never was.
