What do you think of the EGS transmission and FAP DPF as fitted to the Peugeot 3008?

A short time ago I asked you about the relative merits of two cars my wife was considering as her next Motability car. These were the Skoda Roomster SE 1.2 TSI DSG and the KIA Soul 2 1.6 CRDI automatic. Your answer was very helpful. She is now also considering the Peugeot 3008 Active HDi 110 FAP EGC. Although this car would seem superior to the Soul, and with better fuel consumption, I am wondering what you think about EGC transmission, and also the FAP. Sometimes I think that proven and relatively simple technology is better and more reliable.

While Peugeot's FAP fluid regenerated diesel particulate filters are more reliable than VAG's, you could still have problems if you do too many short runs from cold. The EGC is an automated manual. Most drivers can get used to them, but some can't.
