What could replace my Jaguar SE with a bit of 'go', an automatic gearbox and higher seating?
I am looking to change my 2004 Jaguar 3.0-litre SE auto estate. In order to avoid the constant pothole problems and gain higher seating, I would like something with a little bit of go, preferably an auto. I have looked at the BMW X1 and Honda CR-V (which seemed very underpowered). I am also looking at the Ford Kuga. Although my mileage is now only 6,000 - 7,000 pa (short shopping trips are done in my wife's Panda), would a diesel be a better bet for resale? I would appreciate your recommendations/thoughts.

Don't buy a diesel with a diesel particulate filter for this sort of mileage. The answer might be a Toyota RAV4 2.0i Valvematic CVT, as this is more fuel efficient and lower CO2 than the RAV4 diesel with torque converter auto.
