Volkswagen pedal issues

At four years old, the EPC light of my 2009 Volkswagen Golf 1.4 TSI DSG came on. The car drove fine but I took it to a dealer who charged £130 (After contribution from Volkswagen) for a new pedal.

A week ago the EPC light came on again with a loss of power, it got me home. Another new pedal is required, as well as lots of new wiring this time over £600. Have you heard of this before?

EPC dashboard light stands for Electronic Power Control, indicating a potential engine malfunction. They traced it to the accelerator pedal sensor and replaced it. Strange that the same thing should occur again, but so many other potential problems with a Golf Mk VI 1.4TSI DSG that it could be something else such as timing chain, DSG Mechatronics... Comfortable and quiet on the move, enjoyable to drive. Nicely trimmed with great attention to detail. 1.4 TSI sweeter to drive than a diesel.
