Convertible car for a wheelchair user?

A dear friend of mine has recently been diagnosed with Cancer and has become wheelchair bound. He loves cars and would still like to enjoy them, especially a convertible, but is struggling to find anything that has the carrying capacity for the wheelchair.
Do you have any suggestions or ways around this problem?

Why not a classic American convertible? Huge trunk space. Here's one, coming up at Historics auction next Saturday: www.historics.co.uk/buying/auctions/2016-08-20/car.../ Here's another: www.historics.co.uk/buying/auctions/2016-08-20/car.../
