Need a used family car with space for a wheelchair
We are coming off Motability as my disabled son will possibly transfer to residential college in the next two years. In the meantime, we likely have to go up a size in wheelchair for my son but still need to fit a family of four in plus a medium size dog.
Our Citroen Grand C4 Picasso has been fantastic (we've had two) and just coped with family holidays with a roof box on top. But now my disabled son is 16 and more difficult to manoeuvre, I'm wondering if a Ford Galaxy is worth the extra cash?

A Galaxy is on exactly the same floorpan as an S-Max, but is taller. These two tests give you a comparison between the two, especially the video: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/ford/ford-galaxy-2.../ and www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/ford/ford-s-max-20.../
Addison Lee has the biggest fleet of Galaxys in the World and retires them at around 100,000 miles and about four years old for less than £10,000. They are very well maintained with oil changes every 5,000 miles but are obviously close to the age where breakdowns could make them uneconomical to run as taxis. You can buy them direct, any colour you like as long as it's black, but what you must be really careful of is not buying a clocked ex-Addison Lee Galaxy via a third party. Addison Lee corner of Hampstead Road and Granby Terrace, just South of Greater London House, London, tel 0207 3889799. Galaxy car by car entry: www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/ford/galaxy-2006/
