Ford C-MAX 1.8 TDCI cutting out

Our 2009 Ford C-MAX 1.8 TDCI cut out last week. All power failed and the engine malfunction light was on. After switching the car on and off, it restarted. The car has been to our local garage, but they couldn't find any fault codes. Any idea what could be wrong?

What seems to happen is that either moisture gets into one of the multipin ECU connectors or corrosion occurs in there. Separating the connector, drying it out, re-connecting it and sealing it usually solves the problem.
