Poor ride quiality on Volkswagen Gold - will new tyres solve the problem?
Recently, we bought a new Volkswagen Golf 2.0 GT diesel, fitted with 225x40xR18 alloy wheels and tyres as standard. The ride is appalling. Could I ask you to suggest a decent tyre/wheel combination for the Golf that provides the best ride quality for urban/motorway driving?

Common complaint. Fit 15-inch wheels with 195/65 R15 tyres or, ideally, 16-inch wheels with 205/55 R16 Michelin Cross Climate tyres run at 'cold' pressures slightly lower than those recommended.
