Citroen C3 Pluriel - which is the best engine?

I am looking to buy a late Pluriel. Could you tell me which is the best engine and is the diesel a modern one with a DPF or is at an older style?

Only a 70hp 1.4HDI that did not need a DPF. Car by Car entry here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/citroen/c3-pluriel-2.../
